The closer we get to the official launch the more info we get about the Motorola Droid 2. Android and Me has wrapped up a quick hands-on preview of the device and a couple benchmarks comparing the performances of the Motorola Droid 2 vs Motorola Droid. On the GPU side you can see that the Droid 2 is far ahead of the original Droid thanks to its 1ghz TI OMAP 3630 (which packs a the same PowerVR SGX530 GPU as the 500 Mhz TI OMAP 3430 in the Droid):
The Quadrant System benchmark also shows that the Motorola Droid 2′s higher CPU clock speed and doubling of Ram (512 MB vs 256 MB) more than double its performances against the original Droid and make it the fastest Android 2.1 device ever :
The is expected to either luanch with Android 2.2 or receive an upgrade to Froyo shortly after its release.
