Here comes the first “hands on” images and first hand specification of the first Windows Phone phablet namely the Nokia Lumia 1520. As you can see in the pictures below the Lumia 1520 is a huge handset thanks to its gigantic 6″ 1080P screen (most probably IPS LCD) which makes the Sony Xperia Z1 aka aka Honami next to it look like a tiny phone. The 1520′s design is a mix between the Lumia 925 which has the same camera protuberating on the back and the 920/1020 albeit a lot thinner.
The French guy who apparently took those pictures also claims that the Nokia Lumia 1520 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S800 (4XKrait + Adreno 330 GPU), 2GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and surprisingly an MicroSD-Card Slot unlike all the previous high-end Windows Phone 8 handsets from Nokia. The handset is running Nokia’s Bittersweet Shimmer Firmware update which contains the Windows Phone 8 GDR3 code that includes the new multi-tasking switcher allowing apps to be forced closed and support for 1080P screen/QuadCore SoCs.
The Lumia 1520 is expected to be announced later this month probably on September 26th unless things have changes following the recent Microsoft acquisition. In any case the Lumia 1520 will most probably be the latest Nokia Smartphone to be released before Microsoft takes over the Devices and Services business in early 2014.
