MobileTechWorld uses affiliate links to help fund our journalism. This page explains how those links work, why they never change our editorial verdicts, and how we meet UK advertising rules on transparency.
How affiliate links work
Some links on MobileTechWorld are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy, apply or sign up, we may earn a small commission or referral fee from the retailer or brand. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same as it would be going direct — and the revenue helps keep the site running and the team paid.
These links typically point to UK retailers and brands such as Amazon, major high-street and online electronics retailers, mobile networks and broadband providers, and software or subscription services. We may take part in retailer affiliate programmes (including the Amazon Associates programme) where they cover products we already write about.
They never influence our verdicts
This is the line that matters: a commercial relationship never changes our editorial judgement. Whether a link earns us a commission has no bearing on the score we give, the products we recommend, or how they rank in a buying guide.
We will recommend the right product even when there is no affiliate link and we earn nothing from it, and we will advise against a product even when an affiliate partner would have paid us for the sale. Our editors choose what to cover and what to recommend; our commercial partners do not.
Transparency and UK advertising rules
We follow the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (the CAP Code), enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). That means affiliate and other commercial relationships are disclosed clearly and up front, so it is obvious to you when a link can earn us money, and we do not present advertising as if it were independent editorial.
Where a piece is sponsored or otherwise paid for, it is labelled prominently as such — distinct from our independent editorial coverage, which is never sold.
Prices and availability change
Prices, discounts, stock and deals move quickly. We check prices when we publish or update an article and, in our buying guides, we timestamp when each price was last verified — but we cannot guarantee a price or offer will still be live by the time you click through. Always confirm the current price, specification and availability on the retailer's own page before you buy.
