HTC is happy to announce that its second-quarter earnings result is better than its original guidance. Nothing has really been detailed yet but it is expected that the company’s Android handsets record sales are the driving force behind the massive 33% jump in profit year-on-year ($268 million versus $202 million). Nobody can deny that HTC’s decision to stop being a Windows Mobile only OEM and bet heavily on Android has probably saved the company’s XXX given the current status of Windows Mobile (thanks to the massive Windows Mobile 7 aka Windows Phone 7 delay).
