Businnessweek is reporting that Apple & Microsoft are currently in talks to make Bing the default search engine on the iPhone instead of Google. It’s been obvious lately that Apple and Google are no longer best buddies. In the last 6 months Apple has rejected Google Voice on the iPhone, Eric Schmidt finally quit Apple’s Board, Apple bought a mapping company then Google outbid Apple and buys Admob and finally Apple acquired Quattro. People seem to have forgotten one important thing though: Yahoo Search (which is available on the iPhone’s Safari browser) will soon be powered by Bing so it’s only logical that Bing will be offered as an option on the handset’s browser. Making it the default search engine is just a way to rub it in Google’s face. Bing is already the default search engine on Verizon’s Blackberry devices.
