It seems that HTC is about to fulfill its promise and enable 720P video recording on the HTC Desire in a upcoming Froyo / Android 2.2 ROM according to leaks on the XDA-Devs forum. Not much is known yet but it looks like some folks have got their hands on some leaked internal ROM and are in the process of cooking a hacked rom with it.
