It didn’t take long for Samsung to fire back at Apple in what is going to one of the most talk-about legal battle in the mobile industry. The South Korea mobile giant is now claiming that the Californian company is infringing on 10 of its patents:

On April 21, Samsung Electronics filed a lawsuit in the Seoul Central District Court,
Korea against Apple Inc. citing five patent infringements. Separately, Samsung filed a suit in a court in Tokyo, Japan citing two patent infringements, and in Manheim,
Germany citing three patent infringements.

“Samsung is responding actively to the legal action taken against us in order to protect our intellectual property and to ensure our continued innovation and growth in the mobile communications business,”

This case is going to be a long and painful ride but I’m sure that both parties will find a monetary or cross licensing settlement in the years to come.
