One of the most annoying bug (or feature?) in Windows Phone 7 is the inability to save the camera settings and prevent them from going back to default every time the camera application is launched (I’ve discussed most of the OS shortcomings in my Windows Phone 7 review here). What happens is that if you go back to the camera app via the hardware back button your settings will be still be “present” but if you re-launch the application by either using the hardware camera button or the camera application icon then the settings will be back to default. Nice feature, right? Well, I decided to see if this was fixed in the newest unlocked emulator image which is essential the next version of the OS (the NoDo update scheduled to be pushed to device this month). Based on past history the emulator image has exactly the same functionalities as the OS image found on the devices so if something works or doesn’t work on it then you can assume that it will be the same on the you handset (the only major difference being the performance: your PC is relatively faster that your handset..). Check out the video after the break (watch it t’il the very end):

As you can see the bug or “feature” is still present in the 7.0.7389 version of Windows Phone 7. Now, the only way to be 100% sure about this is to wait until the actual NodDo update is pushed later this month but if this turns out to be true I’m fairly sure than the vast majority of the WP7 user are going to be pissed. Can anybody (some devs maybe? ;-) ) with the NoDo rom check it out on a device and report back?
