The Halo Waypoint media hub application is now freely available in Windows Phone 7 Marketplace. Don’t mistake this for a full blown Halo game, this is just a cool media hub dedicated to the Halo universe. The Application is pretty slick eventhough the UI could use some work (it’s not super smooth as you can see in the video below). The video streaming is apparently handled via Microsoft’s smooth-streaming technology that’s why the quality can sometimes look abyssal especially at the beginning of a video (on the flipside, it looks fairly good after a while). The bit-rate is variable and depends on the quality of your data connection. Anyway, this is a pretty cool application if you are a big Halo fan. Check out myVideo after the break:
