The Windows Phone 7 Flickr application has just been updated with the ability to save and download images to your handset. There are still a few bugs like the inability to upload pictures directly from the pictures hub if the folder where the desired picture is located contains tons of other images, but this should hopefully be fixed in an upcoming update which will also bring  more performance improvements to the UI.
