I’m slowly trying to catch up with all the Windows Phone 7 news that I didn’t have time to post yesterday and the one thing that I definitely have to talk about is the Dell Venue Pro aka Dell Lighting. Unfortunately this device isn’t scheduled to launch everywhere so it wasn’t present yesterday and that’s why you didn’t see a hands-on video of it from me but it will apparently launch in the UK before the end of the year. As it is usually the case big blogs got some early hands-on action with the device prior to the announcement (yes it sucks for us smaller blogs when it comes to early software / hardware access). The Dell Venue Pro looks a lot like the Dell Thunder Android smartphone that the company is scheduled to launch in the coming months. The 4.1″ Gorilla Glass curved WVGA OMLED screen, Snapdragon chipset etc. The major difference here is the inclusion of a vertical sliding keyboard which will surely please a lot of hardware keyboard fans. You can expect the same performances on the Venue Pro as on all the other WP7 devices unveiled yesterday so the choice will boil down you your carrier and hardware/Form factor preference.
