According to Microsoft officials the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace is set to open in Korea in August. This essentially means that Korean developers will be able to start submitting applications a couple of months / weeks ahead of the launch of the first Windows Phone 7 Mango (Windows Phone 7.5) devices which are set to finally include support for east-Asian languages.

The Japanese and Chinese Marketplace are also set to open at a later date. With full support East-Asian languages in the OS, including handwriting recognition, Microsoft no longer has anything preventing the OS from succeeding in these markets. Nokia’s global launch of WP7 handsets in 2012 will also be a turning point for the platform.
