If you are a Samsung Galaxy S owner and been closely following news related to the handset you have probably noticed that Samsung has been pumping out (un-official) tons of new ROMs for this particular model. None have been officially released yet (and probably won’t) but most of them usually come with some new improvements (like hardware accelerates browser in some cases). Yesterday was Gingerbread‘s turn to leak in Beta form. The XWJV1 Android 2.3.2 beta rom for the Galaxy S can now be grabbed and installed (at your own risk) on your Galaxy S if you are brave enough.

here’s the latest about it:

It is a full ROM from Samsung, it is a beta build so don’t expect too much!
It’s TouchWiz 3 (GameHub not included since it’s part of TW4 as stated by skiddhard)
Market does work
There appear to be issues with graphics, so no gaming on this ROM
Only flashable through Odin/Heimdal
Pit File is 512 but it seems like 803 also works
Recovery Mode is working, just release the buttons as soon as the Samsung Logo appears thx galaxoid
Chainfire already rooted it
Daneshm90 enabled the lock animation
nitr8 released a rooted and flashable JV1 also thanks to TrOjAnUK
bhola made and promoted (excessively) 2 videos (Tutorial & Quick look)
iammodo reports GPS working
[Ramad] Deodexed and Zipaligned apks of JV1

Contrary to what was being reported earlier this ROM doesn’t use EXT4 file system. For more info and download links head over to the XDA-Devs thread here.
Given the beta status of the rom I’m not going to attempt to flash it on my Glaxy S right now so I4ll leave you with this short video of it in action:
