As is was previously announced Microsoft is officially enabling US only Windows Phone 7 applications developers to register their apps if they wish to monetize them through Microsoft’s PubCenter (using the SDK released 2 weeks ago). Unfortunately this only applies to US residents so the vast majority will have to rely on Google’s Mobile Adsense or Admob advertising platform. More info after the break:

Today, we are launching the next phase of our Ads in Windows Phone 7 Apps program with the release of Microsoft Advertising’s solution for Windows Phone 7 publishers and app developers in the U.S. This solution provides self-service registration, account management, reporting and payout capabilities for Windows Phone 7 app developers, leveraging the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7.
To monetize Windows Phone 7 apps via a Microsoft Advertising solution, developers will need to register their applications, as well as download and integrate the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7, before submitting the app to Windows Phone Marketplace.
To get started, visit https://pubcenter.microsoft.com/ and create an account using your Windows Live ID. Next, follow the simple self-guided on boarding process for app developers (Learn more). The easy self-service process includes steps to sign up, register mobile applications, create ad units and integrate the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7 into your app.
By using the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7, developers can shorten their app development time and simplify inclusion of ads in their apps. Developers can use trusted developer tools like Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, to enable ads in mobile apps with “zero lines of code” and easily track mobile app advertising performance (e.g. in-app ad revenue, ad inventory, CPM and sell thru rate). Since its debut in mid-September, a large number of downloads of the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7 have already been completed.
At this time, the Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows Phone 7 is only open to U.S. developers that plan to distribute Windows Phone 7 apps in the U.S.
