Looks like BGR was right and the Motorola Droid / Tao (Sholes) they have in hand is actually running a beta version on Android 2.0 (codenamed Eclair). Google did a nice job tweaking the UI here & there while adding some new features. It’s good to know that MS Exchange support is now natively supported (it was added by HTC on the HTC Hero), native Facebook support in the contacts, layer support in Google Maps, a new unified inbox etc. The whole UI looks a lot cleaner IMO. It’s kinda scary to see Google pumping out new versions of Android every few months compared to Microsoft who nearly didn’t do a damn thing about Windows Mobile since WM5.
